Since the boutique models that leave the shop floor of Elrick Bass Guitars are usually priced out of range for the average bassist, Rob Elrick has teamed up with Cort to deliver the NJS5: an innovation of a bass for an attainable price. This boutique-grade five-string can be flipped from active to passive mode via the neat push-pull switch, and in active mode, is fully backed up by the superb quality of a Bartolini preamp coupled with a pair of Voiced Tone VTB-ST pickups. These single-coils fully compliment the naturally balanced resonance of the solid alder body to complete an insanely flexible instrument.

The Cort Elrick NJS 5-Strings: A Stable Foundation

The three-piece neck has been carved from hard Canadian maple and bound to the body via six bolts, polishing off the heel-less design which doesn't just firm up the stability, but combines with an ultra-deep lower cutaway for smooth access to the highest of the twenty-four frets. The ebony fretboard also features a zero fret for consistent tone across open or fretted strings, while the bone nut reduces friction to retain pure tuning. Polished off with the excellent resonance of a MetalCraft M-bridge and the improved overall balanced of a set of Hipshot® Ultralite 20:1 ratio tuners, which are 30% lighter than standard tuners, modern bassists are fully assured of an unshakable foundation.
